For more than four decades, Mama Fela has dedicated her life to educating, empowering, and uplifting generations of Black and brown children and their families in the heart of Bed-Stuy. Her vision and unwavering commitment have shaped Little Sun People into the culturally rich, nurturing, and academically excellent institution it is today. This special evening is our opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate and honor the fearless leader whose work has forever impacted countless lives. This event is more than a farewell; it’s a celebration of a lifetime of dedication to building a stronger, brighter future for our children. Little Sun People wouldn’t be what it is today without Mama Fela’s courage, creativity, and boundless love. Let’s send her off in the style she so richly deserves!

LSP LEGACY FUND
For over 40 years, Little Sun People has been a safe and loving, and culturally affirming learning environment in Brooklyn, serving preschool learners from across the borough.
The Annual Fund is the bedrock and lifeblood of LSP's fundraising each and every year, and in conjunction with other efforts, will fuel the mission of LSP and the vision for moving it forward.

Join The Leadership Team at Little Sun People
Are you passionate about early childhood education, community empowerment, and making a positive impact? Little Sun People is seeking experienced and dedicated individuals to help lead our growing and dynamic organization towards a brighter future. Collaborate with others to enhance the impact of our programs while ensuring their financial sustainability, ultimately making a tangible difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.
We’re recruiting to fill the following positions:
Vice Chair to provide backup to the chair and contribute to our mission by strategically overseeing fundraising efforts
Board Treasurer to oversee our organization's financial resources, fostering transparency, compliance, and long-term sustainability
Committee Members to collaborate on special projects support initiatives, and contribute to the success of LSP’s mission
